It has come to our attention that the recent notice sent out to water customers included a typographic error that grossly overstated the annual average for HAA5. The Town of Wytheville would like to take this opportunity to correct that error and reassure the water customers that there is no immediate risk to consumers. The mailed notice included a misrepresented annual average of 0.69 mg/l, when in fact the correct four-quarter annual running average in question for HAA5 was 0.069mg/l.
The Town of Wytheville has engaged in a multi-faceted approach to address these levels and bring the best quality of water to our citizens and customers. These include but are not limited to: extra third party testing of water quality at multiple points in the system, advanced flushing utilization, residual maintenance optimization, additional chlorine residual monitoring, and chlorine residual maintenance. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at: Town of Wytheville, P.O. Box 533, Wytheville, VA 24382. 276-223-3322
